Wearing Earrings After a Long Break- Haute Health Today

Dr. Jeff discusses whether you can reinsert earrings after a long break or whether it’s better to have them professionally pierced. www.quixana.com Jennifer Hi Dr. Jeff. Dr. Jeff: Good morning. Jennifer: So I’ve had my ears pierced for a long time, but I don’t really wear earrings anymore, until recently. I’ve seen this fabulous pair that I’m thinking about purchasing, but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to just push them through or if I’m going to need to professionally have my ears pierced again. Dr. Jeff: How long has it been since you wore pierced earrings? Jennifer: Probably six months to a year. Dr. Jeff: Usually the holes will stay open for a month or two maybe a little bit longer assuming that you had worn earrings for a long time after that and the holes were well established. Six months to a year you’re probably outside of that range. It’s probably best in the situation to get your ears professionally pierced again. If you don’t wear your earrings for a month or two, and you want to try to reinsert them, you can, but I recommend a few important things first. Definitely clean the posts off with rubbing alcohol, and I also recommend cleaning both sides in the ear lobes with a little rubbing alcohol as well. And then once you reinsert them, every day turn the posts a little bit so that it helps the hole establish itself again, and it’ll keep open longer. But I think you’re looking at a professional re-piercing here. Jennifer: Okay, good to know. Thank you Dr

Welcome to Brownbackistan

I was asked for the lyrics…here they are: CFC Welcome to Brownbackistan, where Kansas used to be C D7 G Welcome to Brownbackistan, our new theocracy FCCG Brownback and Koch call all the shots, we’re governed by the rich CBAGFGC The wealthy all get wealthier and the rest can all eat shit Kansas has a long and proud progressive history Suffragettes and populists and anti slavery But now we’ve got a governor who rules more like a king Consensus and the public good just really ain’t his thing When Brownback sees a camera you can bet he’ll give a smile Then turn around and lay off state employees rank and file Our state needs jobs and there his record really ain’t so great Unless you count executives he’s hired from out of state! SRS and DOL, and kids in public schools Arts Commission, women’s health…no money there for you To hire an old crony or fix voter fraud, we’ll pay We’ll even strengthen marriage, just as long as you’re not gay!
